West Ham are discussing an ambitious move for Liverpool target Ruben Amorim if David Moyes leaves the club… with former Wolves and Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui also seen as a potential replacement.

West Ham have held talks with Liverpool managerial target Ruben Amorim and former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui.
David Moyes is out of contract at the end of the season but said in February that he had been offered a new deal and the decision whether to stay was in his hands.
Hammers technical director Tim Steidten has drawn up a list of candidates and Mail Sport understands discussions have taken place with Amorim, who has led Sporting Lisbon within striking distance of the title.
Amorim, 39, could be available to English clubs for £12.8million and was top of Liverpool’s list but is no longer the preferred candidate for the job at Anfield.
Lopetegui is a more viable option for West Ham. He has been unemployed since leaving Wolves in the summer, but is keen to return to management.

Amorim brought Sporting closer to a second Portuguese league title in four seasons. Liverpool sources have yet to deny he is out of the running for the job.
Portuguese reports suggested he had agreed a deal with Liverpool, but those close to the club played this down and were eager to declare he was just one name on a shortlist.

Moyes was left furious and said he was “embarrassed” by his side’s performance following their 5-2 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday.
“I’m so disappointed for the supporters who came today and in truth I’m embarrassed to sit here and speak for the team and the way they played, but I’m the manager” , Moyes said.

Former Wolves and Real Madrid head coach Julen Lopetegui is also being considered by the club.
“I have to say I haven’t had many teams that played like that in my entire career.
“Maybe we lost a little bit of our tough culture, of the pride in making sure that we didn’t concede a goal and that we were difficult to play against and against difficult opposition. We don’t were none of them.
Moyes refused to answer questions about his future but said he would have “no problem” if the decision was out of his hands.
