Hafez was the aggressor from the start, taking the fight to Gall, who was returning for the first time in two years. But as the fight progressed, the New Jersey native began to get used to things, finding his rhythm and confidence to start getting back into things. The back half of the contest was ultra-tight, with Gall appearing to be the fresher and more successful of the two down the stretch.
For the third consecutive fight to begin the evening, the judges were tasked with determining the winner, and all three were in sync, awarding victory to Hafez.
