Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall: Start time, undercard and how to follow as long-awaited rematch gets new date after initial postponement
The rematch between bitter rivals Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall will finally take place next month.
Taylor was victorious via split decision in Glasgow in February 2022, but many people felt it was Catterall who should have been crowned the winner.
In the process, Taylor retained his welterweight titles, but subsequently one of the judges, Ian John-Lewis, was demoted by the British Boxing Board of Control.
Plans for a rematch have failed so far, with Taylor losing to Teofimo Lopez.
This rematch was scheduled to take place last year but had to be postponed due to the injury to Taylor, who then chose to face Lopez.
Taylor incredibly suffered another injury – this time training for their proposed reunion in April, which forced him to be pushed back.
Meanwhile, Catterall has recorded back-to-back wins and is determined to beat Taylor and put himself in position to challenge for world honors.
The two men came to blows during the first pre-fight press conference, with security forced to intervene.

Taylor vs. Catterall 2: What was said?
Taylor, who since the first fight has lost or relinquished his belts, insists there is no love lost between him and Catterall.
He said: “I won’t go for a pint with him after this fight, that’s for sure.
“I’m not emotionally attached at all, I’m nice and relaxed and relaxed, he’s the one who’s upset. He tried to put his hands on my throat again. I went to throw a left hook, but I think that Eddie (Hearn) put it on his arm.
“It’s a big fight, there’s a lot on the line. I had two bad performances, so I have to come back and prove that I’m still one of the best fighters on the planet.
“I have to put in a good performance, and basically I have to get the victory. If he comes to fight like he says he will, that’s absolutely fantastic.”
Meanwhile, “El Gato” is ready for revenge.
Catterall said: “It’s part of my boxing career, it’s part of my life and I’m quite happy with my life.
“I’ve had two fights since then, I’ve evolved and I’m in a good place. But it must be the same for Josh, day in and day out – when is the rematch?
“He’ll get the same, so I think for both of us it’s time we can say we have a rematch and put that to bed.
“I’m not going there for a Taylor who I think is on the decline. I’m going there to prepare the best version of him. But do I think his best days are over? Yes. “
