Tottenham told to sign Morgan Gibbs-White if Nottingham Forest are forced to sell

Tottenham should make a move for Morgan Gibbs-White should he leave Nottingham Forest, talkSPORT’s Gabby Agbonlahor believes.

The 24-year-old excelled in Forest’s 3-1 thrashing of Fulham on Tuesday night, scoring and contributing to a crucial win in their bid to avoid relegation.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have had four points deducted by the Premier League for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) rules.

As a result, Forest may have to sell key players this summer to help ease their financial worries, with Gibbs-White potentially leaving.

And should he leave the City Ground, Agbonlahor believes he could move to north London with Spurs.

When asked by Darren Bent on talkSPORT Drive if the midfielder could play for a top four team, he replied: “100 per cent. I see a team that suits him, Spurs.

“You look at (James) Maddison who has been knocked out in a few games recently and they bring in (Giovani) Lo Celso who is decent, imagine having that power next season.

“Champions League football, and you bring in Gibbs-White and rotate him in that position. I think he offers everything, first touch, can score a goal, can pass, he has that flair .

“As we said earlier, in that assist in the previous game against (Crystal) Palace to Chris Wood, the defenders didn’t even see that pass. Just a little hit on the head from Chris Wood, a straight pass as well.

“I think he has everything and Nottingham Forest could be in a position at the end of the season where they have to sell someone like Gibbs-White.”

Asked how much he thought Gibbs-White would go, Agbonlahor said: “I think minimum £50m, I think maybe a little bit more. Brennan Johnson was what, was it £50m sterling? He’s better than him, so you’re probably talking more.

“Forest are going to want top dollar for him, but if they are under pressure to sell, clubs will know and may offer less than £40m because Forest have to sell someone for financial fair play .

Former sporting director Luke Dowling reveals the two clubs as difficult to do business with as Tottenham Hotspur and Daniel Levy

“But I don’t think he goes to a top four club and looks out of place, I think he fits that, a top player.”

Gibbs-White is in his second season at Forest since signing from Wolves in 2022 in a deal worth around £42.5million.

He has five goals and seven assists in all competitions for the current campaign and continued form like this could earn him a big move elsewhere.
