Thomas Tuchel reveals he isn’t watching Bayer Leverkusen’s title clash as Bayern Munich manager is tuning into Arsenal instead

Thomas Tuchel admitted he wasn’t watching Bayer Leverkusen in their title clash – he was looking towards Arsenal instead.

Bayern Munich are set to be denied the Bundesliga trophy for the first time in 12 years, with Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen one win away from glory.

Alonso is 13 points clear of Bayern and they only need to beat Werder Bremen on Sunday to clinch their first ever title.

As it stands, Leverkusen lead 1-0 and are poised for glory, but rival manager Tuchel says he hasn’t got his attention on this game.

Instead, he’s fully focused on preparing for his team’s next crucial game.

Asked if he would listen to his rival’s title potential during his press conference on Friday, he replied: “No. I’ll watch Arsenal.”

The Bayern boss appears to have his eyes on the Champions League and is not expecting a surprise in the Bundesliga.

Tuchel’s men welcome the Gunners on Wednesday evening, live on talkSPORT, with a score of 2-2 from the first leg.

Goals from Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane were enough to help their side leave the Emirates Stadium with a valuable draw.

And now they will welcome Mikel Arteta and co to the Allianz Arena this week, aiming to progress to the semi-finals.

Tuchel is set to leave Bayern at the end of the season after a dismal season in domestic competitions.

However, he will want to come away with some silverware and the Champions League is the only hope he has left.

The former Chelsea manager is now watching Arsenal v Villa with the score of that match still 0-0.
