UFC Legend Ronda Rousey Lands New Job at Netflix After WWE Exit

Ronda Rousey’s stacked resume just got even more impressive.

“Rowdy” has an incredible track record of success in every field she puts herself in after winning an Olympic medal, capturing a UFC belt and becoming a WWE superstar.

The 37-year-old has also enjoyed an impressive acting career, starring in Expendables 3 alongside Sylvester Stallone and Furious 7 with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Rousey recently took up writing to release a memoir “Our Fight,” which details the previously unknown health issue that ended her UFC career in 2016.

According to Deadline, the former MMA fighter caught the writing bug and took it to the next level by taking on a role as a screenwriter.

Rousey has agreed to adapt her autobiography for a Netflix biopic.

Mark Bomback, who wrote Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and The Wolverine, was initially tapped to adapt the story into a screenplay – but Rousey wanted to write it herself.

With the help of her agents at William Morris Endeavor (WME) – the company that owns the UFC – Rousey began learning how to be a screenwriter.

It seems Rousey was a natural as she impressed her agents by writing a script about her own life in just seven days.

Bosses at the streaming giant apparently loved the script and sought to know the writer before discovering it was the UFC legend.

Netflix quickly acquired the rights to the film, which was originally supposed to star Rousey herself, but will now have someone else in the lead role.

Rousey and the other producers are expected to meet with the actors in the coming months before assembling the cast and beginning production.

Ronda Rousey breaks down in tears twice while talking about fighting issues on Steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO podcast.

There have been some iconic boxing films over the years, but the same can’t be said for MMA, as the few films made about the sport aren’t particularly great.

That could change soon as “The Rock” is working on a new one.

Johnson is currently training hard to prepare to face former two-time UFC champion Mark Kerr, who battled addiction issues at the height of his MMA career.

Emily Blunt will co-star in “The Smashing Machine,” which is set to be directed by Benny Safdie and will begin production later this year ahead of its 2025 release.

So, MMA fans will have something to entertain themselves while waiting for the Rousey biopic to become a reality.
