The fight between William Gomis and Jean Silva at UFC 301 was canceled after Gomis was seen in a worrying condition during Friday’s official weigh-in.
The Frenchman looked extremely ill as he weighed in for his featherweight fight with Silva – and he was underweight.
Gomis weighed in at 143 pounds, 2 pounds below his weight for Saturday’s fight at UFC 301 in Rio de Janeiro.
And journalist Ariel Helwani confirmed the fight has now been canceled after hearing from the fighter’s team.
He was tipped for a tough fight after winning his last 11 meetings, with an overall record of 13-2.

After seeing two Gomis fights canceled in a row, fans were eagerly waiting to see him return to try for a fourth victory inside the Octagon.
However, he was wobbling on the scale and left fans perplexed as to why he exhausted himself so much.
It seemed likely that the fight might be canceled due to his health and that’s what happened.

“Apparently he vomited moments before weighing in.” The Commission’s doctors followed him closely. Jean Silva, his opponent, weighed 146 pounds.
Gomis is a promising fighter among the UFC’s new wave of French signees and has won all three of his contests with the promotion.
Silva, meanwhile, only had one fight in the UFC, defeating Westin Wilson in the first round on short notice after Gabriel Santos withdrew.
