Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson reignite bitter feud with fiery war of words during UFC 300

The long-running feud between Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson is still going strong after all these years.

The beloved MMA legends and coaches of “The Ultimate Fighter” dominated the UFC middleweight division throughout the 2010s and met twice in the famous Octagon during their careers, splitting their head-to-head 1-1.

Although eight years have passed since their last fight, there appears to still be some bad blood after the former foes got into a fiery war of words on social media at UFC 300 on Saturday.

It all started when Henderson appeared to take an unprovoked shot at “The Count,” sharing a photo of his trademark “H-Bomb” that brutally knocked out Bisping during their fight at UFC 100 in 2009.

“Could have won tonight’s $300,000 bonus,” Henderson wrote alongside a photo of the move, referencing Dana White’s decision to increase the UFC’s post-fight bonuses 300 from $50,000 to $300,000.

Bisping, who was covering the event live, caught wind of Henderson’s message and fired back in typically intransigent fashion.

“F*** yeah it would be… But today you would have been suspended for taking testosterone too. #TRT #Antidoping,” he wrote on X.

Henderson responded in a since-deleted reply that, according to fans who screenshotted it, said: “I beat you a** in our rematch too, but the judges gave it to their local boy.”

Bisping still managed to read the deleted message and responded, “Why don’t you cry about it. I beat you in one eye too,” followed by a crying laughing emoji.

A fan asked Bisping if he was still salty about the loss to Henderson in 2009, to which he responded: “I couldn’t care less.

“Haha but I have the right to respond with facts 🙂 like I said, it’s always a good punch.”

Bisping has publicly stated that Henderson’s 2009 knockout was the hardest blow he ever faced and that he doesn’t remember much about it.

However, this isn’t the first time the British MMA icon has spoken out about Hendo’s use of testosterone in the past.

Henderson was the first mixed martial artist to legally use testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in the UFC and has been open about its use throughout his career.

Last year, Bisping told MMA Junkie: “I mean, being knocked out like that and the whole world laughing at you for a long time, well, you can take it two ways, right not ?

“You can either be defeated and feel sorry for yourself and everything else, or you can learn from it, simple as that, and that’s what I did.

“That fight there – let’s remember Dan Henderson was on testosterone replacement therapy, so shame on him. He still had a long career after being banned which is very interesting, isn’t it ?I’ve always had a strong stance against people who take steroids and I still do, so you unfortunately get no free pass from me.”

Bisping also referenced it in 2020, on the 11th anniversary of his fight with Henderson, after “Dangerous Dan” mocked him again on social media.

“Enjoying the fights as much as possible while listening to Bisping,” Henderson wrote at UFC 251.

“Happy birthday to the night I put you to bed.”

“Yeah, on steroids, buddy,” Bisping replied.

“You’re cheating, c**t. No honor, no surprise. Then I beat you in one eye. Get fucked, you sour bitch.

“I never won the UFC belt. Don’t be sour, you old bastard. Now go back into the darkness. Drink again and relive your former glory. Everyone is polite to their face and talks shit online. I didn’t think of you as a keyboard warrior.

“I’m surprised you saw that, I guess you don’t keep tabs on the fights like you’re supposed to commentate,” Henderson said.

“No wonder your comments are crap.”

Bisping would eventually avenge his UFC 100 loss to Henderson by defeating him in their rematch at the Manchester Arena in 2016.

Bisping was the middleweight champion at the time after stunning his other bitter rival Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 to win gold at 185 pounds.

Henderson knocked down Bisping twice in their rematch, but the Briton continued to fight and dominated his opponent to secure a unanimous decision victory.
