WWE star Jinder Mahal has revealed that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson gave him a big hint about his wrestling future earlier this year.
The Rock made an explosive return to WWE screens to usher in 2024, facing Mahal on an episode of Monday Night Raw.

The Canadian-born former WWE Champion revealed the unique build-up to the segment with the Hollywood megastar, and the “Easter egg” Johnson left him on his voicemail.
Since their in-ring confrontation, Mahal has faced Seth Rollins in an ultimately unsuccessful challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Barely used since then, the mighty Mahal was recently fired by WWE, ending his second stint with the company after eight years.
In contrast, Rock joined the board of directors of WWE’s parent company, TKO, and made a sensational return to the ring as an active wrestler at WrestleMania XL.
The long-running storyline with The Bloodline and Cody Rhodes featured some of the most epic, sweary, bloody moments in recent company history.
After leaving WWE, Mahal admitted that Johnson gave him a huge piece of advice about what came next in their January clash by leaving a voicemail.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, he also explained how accommodating the Moana star had been during preparation.
“I met him at his hotel and (former WWE writer and Rock’s business partner) Brian Gewirtz was there,” he explained. He wrote a great promo.

“When he sent it to me, I was like, ‘Can we say this?’ Yeah? All right!’ I guess for Rock, anything goes!
“He just said ‘have fun, let’s do it!’
“He was excited to work with me and I was obviously excited to work with him.
“He’s just a classy artist, The Rock is incredible. That he gives me this moment, and above all that Brian tells me: “We have time, don’t rush.”
“I actually fooled myself and said, ‘Maybe I’ll walk and talk to the ring,’ and he said, ‘No no no, enjoy it, make a full entrance, take some heat’.
“We had 20 minutes, which is incredible. It was an incredible experience.”
When Johnson gave him an idea of what was to come in the weeks and months that followed, Mahal added: “Actually, he kind of left a little Easter egg.
“He sent me a voice note like, ‘Thank you, I enjoy working with you, I’ll be seeing a lot more of you now that I’m doing things across the board with WWE.’

Johnson fought in a 45-minute match at WrestleMania, with chief creative officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque saying there were more great things to come from the People’s Champ.
Mahal unfortunately won’t be around to see these latest exploits, having been one of several wrestlers eliminated by WWE over the past week.
The former champion leads a roster that reportedly includes former NXT star Cameron Grimes, Veer Mahaan, Sanga, Xia Li, Xyon Quinn and Von Wagner.
