‘Y&R’ Actress Eileen Davidson Explains Ashley Abbott’s Edits and How the Script Came to Be Eileen Davidson, Extension, Slideshow, The Young and the Restless | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

Eileen Davidson is best known for playing Ashley Abbott in the long-running soap opera series The Young and the Restless and she talks about her character’s history of dissociative identity disorder (DID).

The 64-year-old actress made an appearance on the show YouTube Live from Michael Fairman show and discussed Ashley’s DID changes, got emotional about her co-stars and teased her future on Y&R.

Editor-in-chief Josh Griffith was looking to explore Ashley’s mental health journey. Continuing the thread mentioned in a fall 2023 episode, Ashley “misremembered” the events with Tucker in Paris. She remembers him having a violent outburst outside a cafe, while Tucker had a different memory, not involving any violence.

Josh approached this exploration of mental health by addressing DID, a scenario that Eileen said she never thought she would explore acting.

“Ashley was never strong and united.” Eileen said. “She had problems from the start.”
