Makeup Artist Ash K. Holm Shares Dewy Makeup Tips for Oily Skin

The 34-year-old also suggested mattifying specific parts of your face to prevent breakage.

“Take a powder and lightly apply it to areas that your makeup might separate,” she advised. “It sets your makeup and doesn’t move at all. But it has to be a fine powder, otherwise it could have back effects.”

His recommendation? Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Airbrush Finishing Setting Powder. “It’s buildable,” Ash shared, “but it’s really light on the skin.”

And if you really want to take your look to the next level, don’t be afraid to define it.

“What I like is I take the One/Size setting spray and I spray it in two coats,” the beauty expert revealed. “I’ll douse the face with the setting spray, pause to breathe, then do it again.”

Between layers, Ash will grab her powder puff and gently tap the powder into the skin while the setting spray is still drying.

“When I really want it to last, I’ll either use Charlotte Tilbury setting spray or Urban Decay,” she continued. “The goal is to layer one of the three. That really locks it in and makes it look pristine. And it won’t move in these really hot climates.”
