Wrexham team enjoy VIP treatment at famous Las Vegas nightclub for League Two promotion night
Wrexham are returning to Las Vegas for their biggest promotion night yet.
The League Two runners-up have progressed two seasons in a row, gaining a place in the third tier of English football for the first time in 15 years next season.
Despite not sealing the league title this time around like last year thanks to former National League foes Stockport County, Wrexham’s players were rewarded with a trip to Sin City a once again.
And as the third season of ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ was released in the UK, the club’s owners, actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, ensured their stars were treated like VIPs at one of the best restaurants and city nightclubs, Hakkasan.
Hakkasan is not only the biggest club in Las Vegas, but also the biggest in the entire United States – and Wrexham was the center of the event on Thursday night.
Clips posted on Instagram show the new League One boys being welcomed into a VIP area of the club to the sound of the song ‘Wrexham FC, red army’ playing over the loudspeakers.
All this happened while someone was waving a huge Welsh flag and clips of their season’s highlights were shown on the screen.
Any Hakkasan fans without any concept of EFL football were probably slightly confused at this point.
But the Wrexham players didn’t seem to mind, as they were all singing and jumping together as a group.
Players including James McClean also posted snaps from the evening on their Instagram, uploading group photos of them after simply enjoying their Michelin star food.
After taking the National League by storm last season, Wrexham’s players were also treated to a trip to Las Vegas, the Hakkasan and plenty of pool parties.
This time around, Wrexham’s owners joked that their players probably needed a meditation retreat to celebrate this year’s promotion after last summer’s antics.
It looks like their arms got twisted at the end!
Wrexham also revealed their published and retained list on Friday, confirming the departure of club captain Luke Young.
