West Ham finish ‘half empty’ in just 50th minute as Chelsea run riot at Stamford Bridge
West Ham fans gathered outside Stamford Bridge before the second half even started as Chelsea beat them.
West Ham found themselves 3-0 down at half-time against Chelsea before Nicolas Jackson added a fourth quickly after the break.
Few Hammers fans were there to see it, with the talkSPORT team noting that the outside of Stamford Bridge was “half empty”.
Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher and Noni Madueke had struck in the first half to make the afternoon miserable for West Ham before Jackson killed the game off with an easy tap-in just three minutes after half-time.
talkSPORT pundit and former Arsenal star Perry Groves was at Sunday’s game and couldn’t believe his eyes.
“There are five or six West Ham players who are not trying, they have lost their advantage,” he said on air.
“The (West Ham) players are playing as if their manager won’t be there next season.
“The West Ham players show no respect to Moyes.
“Chelsea look really hungry, Palmer and Gallagher are thriving because they aren’t challenged.”
Moyes has never won at Stamford Bridge during his Premier League managerial career.
And with the Scot likely to leave West Ham at the end of the season, it doesn’t look like he’ll be breaking that duck anytime soon.
Palmer broke the deadlock after just 15 minutes against the Hammers to equal an impressive Chelsea record.
Gallagher then doubled the lead with a fine volley before Noni Madueke made it 3-0 before half-time when he headed in from a corner.
Madueke was involved again when he broke free from the West Ham defense before teeing up Jackson just after the break.
