US stocks are falling again. Indices down from -0.43 to -0.55% now

Major U.S. stock indexes are falling again, with all three major indexes now down approximately -0.45% to -0.55%.

A market overview currently shows:

  • Dow industrial average -216.30 or -0.56% to 38,676.88
  • S&P index -27.16 points or -0.53% to 5174.98
  • NASDAQ Index -75.57 points or -0.47% to 16177.50

Looking at the hourly chart of the S&P Index, the price is down again testing its 200 hourly moving average at 5,174.25. On April 4, the price fell below the moving average, but only for an hour or two. Earlier today, the price had moved back below the moving average, but it also rebounded higher.

A break below the level – and continuation below the level – would be the first significant breakout since November 1, 2023.

Tomorrow, the US CPI will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Fed minutes will also be announced at 2 p.m. ET.
