UPDATE: Important Rail Service Information – Effective Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19, 2024

Due to continued extreme temperatures, NJ TRANSIT is currently experiencing heat-related rail equipment issues affecting air conditioning units and other electronic components. IMPORTANT NOTE: As a matter of protocol, NJ TRANSIT does not send a train into passenger service if there is a known air conditioning issue, even if the train is otherwise operational.

While our rail maintenance teams are working around the clock to make the necessary repairs and return the affected equipment to service as quickly as possible, some trains will not be running. To minimise the impact on customers as much as possible, trains have been strategically selected on several rail lines at different times throughout the service day to ensure that no rail line is disproportionately affected.

Thursday 18 and Friday 19 July, The following trains will not run or will be combined with other trains, and some will make additional stops. We have included suggested alternative trains for your reference.

We appreciate your patience during this temporary adjustment and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
