At the climax of the undisputed WWE title clash between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, the legendary Taker emerged to knock down Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who had interfered in the fight.

The huge crowd erupted to the sound of Undertaker’s legendary gong, as The Phenom appeared behind Rock, delivering a chokeslam and disappearing as soon as he arrived.

It was one of the most memorable moments of the entire WrestleMania weekend, helping Rhodes achieve a historic triumph.

Such a thrilling appearance also seems to have done wonders for the veteran artist, who explained that performing – albeit briefly – in front of such a large crowd gave him a much-needed sense of finality.

On his lack of being an active member of the WWE roster, he explained via Six Feed Under: “I’ve struggled with it since I retired, but (WrestleMania) weekend ) allowed me to turn the page. It really did.

“It’s been fun. Doing this for as long as I’ve been doing it and being involved in that, and how important that storyline was and is.

“When it was over and I ran out of the building, I was like, ‘I’m okay now.’

“My last match was at the Boneyard, and no one was there. (WrestleMania XL) was a moment of clarity that I had: ‘I’m okay now.’

The Undertaker brought a memorable end to a phenomenal 30-year wrestling career with the cinematic Boneyard Match at WrestleMania in 2020.

He defeated AJ Styles in the classic encounter, with the on-site bout proving a unique way to avoid the fact that WWE had closed its doors to live crowds during the COVID pandemic.

Going through the rigors of this match, the real Mark Calaway knew it was time to end his active career.

Likewise, he reiterated that WrestleMania XL allowed him to decide it was time to continue his career, which included a podcast and a live show.

The 59-year-old didn’t go so far as to rule out a similar appearance in the future, adding: “I’m not saying I won’t do something like that in the future, but I haven’t this feeling”. in my chest, as it has been since I retired, that I was not at peace with it.

“I knew, just like I knew it was over in the Boneyard Match at four in the morning.

“I’m good. I had no idea, but once it was done, I was like, ‘You’re good, man, it’s time to turn the page and move on to the next chapter.’

“It was a really cool weekend, and to finish it off and put an end to the wrestling part of my career, it was so cool and a great feeling.”
