Taylor Swift is the last big name to appear in Blake Lively and the controversial legal fight by Justin Baldoni.
TMZ reported on Friday that Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, had assigned Swift as a witness in the case linked to “IT ends with us”, a romantic film in 2024 with Baldoni and Lively.
Although the film has successfully completed at the world box office, its success was overshadowed by the moon behind the scenes between its main stars. In addition to acting, Baldoni made the film and Lively was presented as a producer.
In response to the assignment, a spokesman said that Swift had been minimal in the film beyond the license of his song “My Tears Ricochet”.
“Taylor Swift has never set foot on the set of this film, she was not involved in any casting or creation decision, she did not score the film, she has never seen a editing or notes on the film, she did not even see “It ends with us” until weeks after its public release, and moved around the world in 2023 and 2024 to the headliner of the biggest tour in history, “the spokesman for Good Morning America told.
The spokesman said that the decision to assign one of the largest pop stars in the world had been made to create “tabloid clicks”.
“The connection that Taylor had with this film allowed the use of a song” My Tears Ricochet “. Since his involvement was to link a song for the film, which 19 other artists have also done, this document is softened is designed to use the name of Taylor Swift to draw the public interest by creating clicks-clinïdes instead of focusing on the facts of the case spokesperson.
The representatives of Swift, Lively and Baldoni did not respond to a request for comments to Business Insider.
Animated and Baldoni faced each other
So far, neither Lively nor Baldoni have fallen back into their legal battle.
After the premiere of August 2024 of “IT Ends With US”, based on the eponymous book of Colleen Hoover, Lively filed a complaint with the California civil rights department accusing Baldoni of having sexually harassed him and of creating a “hostile work environment which had almost derailed the production of the film”.
The complaint also accused Baldoni and his team of having tried to harm the public reputation of Lively. The complaint, formalized in a trial last December, mentioned Swift by name.
Baldoni continued the New York Times for defamation last December after the point of sale published an article on the accusations of Lively. A month later, Baldoni accused Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, to resume the film and to try to harm his reputation in a trial of $ 400 million. Lively and Reynolds asked the rejection of the Baldoni trial.
