talkSPORT betting tips – Best football bets and expert advice for Monday 1 April

Easter Monday offers a packed card of EFL matches and there is plenty to play for in the leagues.

Leicester will look to get back to winning ways after falling out of top spot in the Championship table, while title rivals Ipswich and Leeds hope to keep up the pressure.

The bet of the day

Bristol City beat Plymouth – 31/20

Bristol City hampered Leicester’s title quest by beating the Foxes 1-0 at Ashton Gate on Friday and the Robins look excellent value for money to follow up at Plymouth.

Jamie Vardy hit the post and missed two glaring chances for Leicester, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that Bristol City looked extremely dangerous in Friday’s contest and managed nine shots on goal against a Championship side high level.

Plymouth are struggling at the bottom of the second tier, but it’s just one win in ten league games for the Pilgrims.

Ian Foster’s men took the lead against Norwich at Carrow Road on Friday, but they were beaten 2-1 at Norfolk and Plymouth looked jaded and dejected as they left the field. It’s a short time frame to boost morale and Bristol City looks like excellent value for money to add to the Pilgrims’ problems.

Special of the day

Over 10.5 corners in Ipswich vs Southampton

Southampton have fallen ten points behind league leaders Ipswich in the Championship table and this game looks must-win for the Saints if they are to get back into the automatic promotion table.

Russell Martin’s men have two games in hand at the Suffolk side, but they are in danger of going broke at Portman Road. No team has averaged better than Southampton’s 7.92 corners per game this season and the 37 second-tier matches involving the Saints average 12.14 flag kicks.

Ipswich have averaged 6.47 corners in 19 home league matches this season and the total is expected to surpass the 10.5 line in what could be a frenetic contest in Suffolk.

Long photo of the day

Watford win and over 3.5 goals – 14/1

Tom Cleverley has steadied the ship since his arrival at Watford and the Hornets have beaten Birmingham and earned a draw with Leeds since the former Man Utd midfielder replaced Valérien Ismael.

Watford twice led league title hopefuls Leeds to a 2-2 draw on Friday night and the Hertfordshire side created plenty of opportunities in a game they could well have won.

Emmanuel Dennis, Yaser Asprilla and Vakoun Issouf Bayo form an extremely dangerous Watford attacking unit and they look capable of causing West Brom problems.

The Baggies are looking to consolidate their playoff position, but they could be vulnerable against a rejuvenated Watford side.

West Brom have scored 15 goals in their last seven matches and they will pose a threat of their own, but at 14/1, backing Watford to win and over 3.5 goals in the game looks like a costly play.
