Simon Jordan smiles as he films his devastated friend and co-host Jim White on his knees in Scotland

Simon Jordan couldn’t hide his delight after seeing Scotland knocked out of Euro 2024 alongside Jim White.

White and Jordan are friends and colleagues who host one of talkSPORT’s flagship shows, but that doesn’t mean they always see eye to eye.

The Tartan Army entered the Euros as underdogs but found themselves one game away from a potential place in the round of 16 as they took on Hungary on Sunday evening.

What followed was an extremely tense encounter, one which White seemed unable to enjoy due to the high stakes surrounding the encounter.

With the score at 0-0, Scotland and Hungary knew they needed a win to have any chance of qualifying for the knockout stages, leading White to monitor his anxiety.

As time ticked down, both teams were aiming for victory, but it was Hungary who scored just seconds from full time to make it 1-0, leaving the Scot with a header and collapsing to their knees as Steve Clarke’s team’s fate was sealed.

In contrast, Jordan was filming White’s reaction and after feeling the emotion of the moment for his talkSPORT co-host, he turned his camera around to reveal his beaming smile after seeing Scotland knocked out of the tournament.

While continually praising the Scottish fans for their immense support in Germany, Jordan repeatedly called out their lack of quality ahead of the tournament.

This was summed up in the build-up to their final group clash as they discussed their hopes of Hungary progressing.

Speaking on White and Jordan on Friday, the former Crystal Palace owner said: “What do I want to see for the Scottish fans who are brilliant fans? I want to see them get the result that will allow them to cross the group.

It was an agonizing night for Scotland in Germany

“What do I expect to see? Scottish bags on a carousel.”

The Tartan Army finished their Group A campaign in fourth position, having picked up just one point from their three matches.

During that period, Clarke’s side scored just two goals, conceding seven in the process, bringing Jordan’s prediction painfully true.
