Shocking moment cyclist is hit by P-plater in Sydney’s Canley Heights before driver flees

A terrifying hit-and-run by a P-plater was captured on a home surveillance camera.

Footage showed a black sedan swerving before hitting a cyclist from behind and then speeding down a street in Canley Heights, in Sydney’s west, on Monday. at 4:27 p.m.

The motorcyclist was knocked to the ground during the violent collision before a resident rushed to help him.

The person who posted the video on the Fairfield City Community Facebook page said they believed the incident was “clearly intentional.”

Footage showed a black sedan swerving before hitting a cyclist from behind, then speeding down a street in Canley Heights, in Sydney’s west, at 4.27pm on Monday.

“The victim was not injured and did not want the police or an ambulance to be called,” the person said.

“Regardless, a report was submitted to Crimestoppers that included the offender’s license plate.”

A.Residents were horrified by the brazen hit-and-run.

“Oh my God, this is disgusting behavior. Thanks for reporting this. I hope the driver is found and punished,” one person wrote.

“It must have been road rage. I hope he gets caught,” wrote another.
