Scottie Scheffler makes his first appearance since his second Masters victory, as the Green Jacket holder plays at RBC Heritage despite having a heavily pregnant wife at home.

Scottie Scheffler made his first appearance following his Masters victory this weekend, with the two-time Green Jacket holder playing in the RBC Heritage despite his wife’s pregnancy.

Scheffler repeatedly insisted last week that he would leave Augusta — even though he was in the lead — if his wife, Meredith, went into labor.

However, that never happened and Scheffler returned to the course Thursday at the South Carolina tournament.

He said after his victory at the Masters that he was “coming home”.

“I’ll be home as quickly as possible,” he said.

Scheffler is believed to have returned to Meredith in Dallas, but he was also spotted stopping at a dive bar to celebrate his victory.

He nearly cried inside Butler Cabin on Sunday as he discussed his victory ahead of the impending arrival of his first child.

“I will definitely enjoy the birth of my first child and my priorities will change very soon, so golf will be fourth, but I still love competing,” he said.

“I don’t plan on taking my eyes off the ball anytime soon.”

He added: “I wish I could soak in a bit more of that, but all I can think about is going home. You’re about to make me cry here at Butler Cabin. This is a very, very special moment for both of us.

“I can’t express in words what it means to win this tournament again and I really can’t express what it’s going to be like to be a father for the first time.

“I can’t wait to come home and celebrate with Meredith, it’s been a long week without her.”

Scheffler married his high school sweetheart Meredith in 2020, and the couple is expecting their first child any day now.

Scheffler even found a way to stay in touch with Meredith despite Augusta’s no-phone policy.

“We have someone here who has access to his cell phone,” he said Saturday. “We have open lines of communication and she can reach me if she needs to.
