Ringside footage shows Vasyl Lomachenko’s sickening knockout blow and George Kambosos’ face says it all.

Vasyl Lomachenko recorded his first save in three years on Saturday night and it did not disappoint.

The last time Lomachenko closed the show remotely was in June 2021, when he knocked out Masayoshi Nakatani with a flurry of shots in the ninth round.

But this weekend against George Kambosos, he returned to his best by stopping the Australian in the body in the 11th round to win the IBF lightweight title.

Lomachenko had been in complete control throughout the competition and began to turn the screw during the championship rounds.

Most of his early work concerned the head, but in later images he began to invest in the body, which paid off at the end of the 11th stanza when Kambosos was sent crashing to the canvas after having eaten a left uppercut to the gut.

To his credit, Kambosos got back on his feet.

Ringside footage shows how clean the shot was while you can clearly see Kambosos letting out a cry of distress as he landed.

Lomachenko is now a four-time world champion in three weight classes and, at 36, has shown he can still mix with the best.

Taking the microphone immediately afterwards, an emotional Lomachenko said: “Today I am world champion again and this world title for my father.

“I would like to say a big thank you and show my appreciation.

“He trained me, he built me ​​and he deserves it. This belt is for my father.”

Kambosos then gave his reaction to the first stoppage loss of his career.

“I’m an Australian badass. I’m the mold of Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward,” he said.

“We don’t want to get into easy fights, we go in with the best, look at my record.

“What can you say about this man, he’s one of the best of all time.

“We did our best, we started very early but he is a real champion and he deserves this belt.”
