Revealed: Who Laporta, Deco and Yuste want to lead Barcelona next season

Barcelona are considering their management options for next season amid continued uncertainty over Xavi’s future as first-team coach.

President Joan Laporta is reportedly unwilling to continue with Xavi next season after being upset by some of the coach’s recent comments.

Gerard Romero has discussed the situation and reports that the club could now take three different paths when it comes to the managerial situation.

Laporta apparently wants a German coach, which brings Hansi Flick and Thomas Tuchel back into the spotlight.

Tuchel could be in demand this summer after leaving Bayern, but he is believed to be keen on returning to the Premier League. Flick was the favorite to replace Xavi earlier this year, but those discussions have become very quiet recently.

However, vice-president Rafa Yuste wants to continue with Xavi and will apparently do his best to convince Laporta to continue with the coach. The fact that Xavi’s sacking will be extremely expensive will obviously be a real problem for the president.

And then there is Deco who wants either Thiago Motta or Rafa Marquez. The Mexican is perhaps the more obvious and cheaper choice, while Motta has done a good job with Bologna.

There has been talk that Motta could now head to Juventus – following the dismissal of Massimiliano Allegri – but it appears he is also an option for Barcelona.

Who would you choose from Romero’s list? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
