Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham highlights love of Birmingham with incredible new one of a kind inscription autograph trading card

When you open a pack of Topps UEFA Club Competitions 2023/24, you might just be in for a big surprise.

Inserted in a lucky piece of paper, will be an incredible one-of-a-kind Jude Bellingham autograph trading card.

And to make the event even more special, the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder wanted to honor his roots.

Writing in blue, apparently a nod to his boyhood club, Bellingham wrote ‘Just a Birmingham boy’ on the highly sought-after card.

Speaking to Topps, he said: “Being where I come from, not many people get the opportunity to come and play for Real Madrid, you know?

“I’m probably one of the first Brummies to play in La Liga, let alone Real Madrid.

“I’m really proud of where I come from and the people who helped raise me from Birmingham.

“I feel like I’m still a normal kid, I’m really living my dream.”

The card is now ready to create a real buzz in the community and it will be worth a nice sum to the lucky owner who draws it.

Commenting on the news, Jason Flynn, host of the Soccer Cards United podcast, said: “Bellingham’s unique autograph market is extremely healthy and shows no signs of slowing down with his performances at Real Madrid. We could see this card fetch up to $10,000 (£8,000) at auction.

“Inscribed autographs are new to the football card market and collectors are still deciding their place in the pecking order, but given Jude’s superstar status, his young age and the number of top collectors lineup already interested in him, it’s not hard to see this card generating huge interest.

“Most of the best cards on the market are rookie player cards and it’s very rare to see a player have a fourth year card that will generate as much interest as this one.

“That’s what we want to see in the future, we want to see cards throughout a player’s career that excite collectors and give us that chasing feeling; ‘just a boy from Birmingham’ certainly has do that.”
