Conservative media pundit Jason Whitlock shared his thoughts and feelings on why Caitlin Clark dominates attention in the basketball world — and he thinks her race might have something to do with that.

Clark, who was selected first overall in last week’s WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever, left college as one of the greatest scorers in NCAA history.

In a segment on his show “Fearless,” Whitlock shared his thoughts on Clark’s dominance in headlines as having something to do with his race.

He thinks Clark is somewhat of an underdog given that she is a white athlete in a sport that has been dominated by black athletes for decades.

“It’s a black sport and this little white girl dominates,” Whitlock began.

“It’s like an underdog or something unexpected, the same reason many of us fell in love with Tiger Woods in golf. We hadn’t seen anyone who looked like him dominate golf.

“We haven’t seen anyone who looks like him dominate the game of basketball to this extent.”

Whitlock then says that people like Clark because “she’s heterosexual and has a boyfriend.” She went to a Catholic school and gives the impression that she believes in Jesus Christ.

He then tried to compare him to South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley, who is also Christian, but has also advocated for equal rights and participation in sports.

“I have to give credit to Dawn Stanley, and I did,” Whitlock said. “She starts talking about Jesus, and my ears and eyes perk up and I say, “Oh, maybe we have that in common.” ”

“But when you add transgenderism, I’m like, ‘What God is Dawn Stanley talking about?’ “And her little open hostility towards white people and BYU students and the racism she displays. What God is she talking about?

Clark began her WNBA career in a road game against the Connecticut Sun on May 14.
