Whatever the result, an Englishman will win club football’s most coveted prize with Bellingham at the Bernabeu and Sancho at Signal Iduna Park.

And as the two prepare to meet at Wembley this weekend, Bellingham revealed Sancho had contacted him.

Speaking to Real Madrid media, the midfielder revealed that the Manchester United loanee sent him a simple message that read: “See you soon.”

He said: “When we got (to the final), I got a little message from Jadon and he said, ‘See you soon.’

“Jadon is someone who took me under his wing as soon as I arrived at Dortmund.

“He’s a really good guy and someone I have a lot of time for.”

While it might not exactly be the longest post, Bellingham and Sancho are good friends having played together at Dortmund.

The duo shared a dressing room in Germany for a season before Sancho signed for United as Dortmund won the DFB-Pokal Cup.

It was up to Flying Forward to help a Bellingham teenager settle into life in Germany, acting as his mentor and thus forging a close bond.

“Sancho is really very important to me. Not just because he comes from the same country as me or because he speaks the same language,” Bellingham told Kicker magazine in 2020.

“Even more important is the way he puts his arm around me, but also around the other young players, how he encourages us in our abilities, how he gives us confidence.”

Both then secured big money transfers as Sancho signed for the Red Devils in a £73million deal but returned on loan in January after being left out of Erik’s side ten Hag.

Bellingham, meanwhile, has gone from strength to strength since signing for Real Madrid last summer and is one of the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

The England international has scored 23 times and provided 12 assists during his debut campaign in Spain and could increase that tally further on Saturday.
