Patrick and Brittany Mahomes were in the crowd as Lionel Messi and Inter Miami took on Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night.
Messi and Miami play at Arrowhead Stadium – home of the Kansas City Chiefs – in this weekend’s MLS clash.
Before kickoff Saturday, Brittany posted a video on social media showing Mahomes — wearing a custom Sporting KC jersey — heading onto the field.
The Super Bowl winner is used to being the center of attention at Arrowhead Stadium, but Saturday night it was soccer great Messi’s turn.
Sporting KC usually plays Major League Soccer matches at Children’s Mercy Park, which has a capacity of 18,500.
However, with World Cup winner Argentina in town, the match was moved to the home of the city’s NFL team.
Around 70,000 fans are expected to attend Inter Miami’s visit to Kansas City, with Tata Martino lining up all his big stars for the MLS match.
Messi, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets have all been named in Miami’s starting lineup as the team looks to secure a first win in almost a month.
