Prominent Las Vegas attorney and wife killed in law office shooting: sources

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The two victims of Monday’s shooting at a Las Vegas law office — an attorney and his wife — were new parents who were allegedly killed by another Las Vegas attorney, sources said to 8 News Now investigators.

The shooting happened in the fifth-floor office of the Prince Law Group during a deposition, sources said. The law firm is located at 10801 W. Charleston Blvd. near Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa.

Dennis Prince represented his wife, Ashley Prince, in a deposition involving Ashley Prince’s ex-husband, sources said. The father of Ashley Prince’s ex-husband, Joe Houston II, represented his son in the proceedings, sources said. Records show Dylan Houston filed for divorce from then-named Ashley Houston in 2021.

Joe Houston II targeted his two victims, LVMPD Lt. Jason Johansson said without identifying either party.

The Princes recently had a child together, friends confirmed to 8 News Now investigators.

Dennis Prince has frequently appeared on 8 News Now where he discussed civil cases.

“It is with deep sadness that Prince Law Group would like to thank everyone who has sent us sincere messages of concern and sympathy regarding the tragic violence that occurred this morning in our offices,” a spokesperson said Monday evening. “We ask that you respect the privacy of the families involved.”

Prince’s former associate Robert Eglet described Prince as a wonderful father of four. He said her death was “not only a loss to her family, but also to the community.”

“We are deeply saddened by the devastating news of the passing of Dennis Prince, a prominent lawyer considered one of our state’s best,” said Tom Letizia, a political consultant and friend of Prince. “Dennis was not only a close friend of mine, but also a respected figure within our legal community, whose absence has left us all grieving. The news of this tragedy deeply shocked me and our entire community.

“I’m devastated,” said Democratic Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, a friend and former law partner of Dennis Prince. Dennis Prince was not only a brilliant lawyer, but he was also my former partner and friend. I can’t believe he’s gone. I am extremely saddened by his and Ashley’s deaths, and my thoughts are with their families, especially their children.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will formally identify the victims at a later date.

Those in need of victim services can call 702-455-HELP (2433).
