Police investigate death after shooting in Mattapan

Boston police have opened a death investigation after a man was shot and killed near Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan early Saturday morning, police said.
Boston Police shared on Facebook that officers responded around 4:44 a.m. Saturday to Blue Hill Avenue and Fremont Street, where a man was suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a local hospital where he later died, according to police.
The man has not been publicly identified.
