Smriti Irani said the Gandhi family’s indecent remarks and taunts against Prime Minister Narendra Modi proved costly for the Congress in the 2023 assembly elections.

Union Minister Smriti Irani thanked people across states for voting for the ruling BJP and said, “The ‘Modi magic’ has sounded the death knell for opposition parties in India.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on the verge of victory as the counting of votes for the 2023 assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh continues.

“As a BJP worker, I am extremely delighted that the ‘Modi magic’ has sounded the death knell for opposition parties in India. I am especially grateful to the citizens of all states who voted the BJP to power,” Irani said.

“Today’s results indicate the victory of the BJP in the 2024 general elections,” she said, adding that people have shown immense confidence in Prime Minister Modi’s policies.

“Narendra Modi’s guarantee is about development. The trust people have placed in guaranteeing it – as BJP workers, we are grateful to them,” she said.

Congress taunts against PM Modi proved costly for Gandhi family

Attacking the Congress, Irani said. “The kind of indecent remarks that the Gandhi family made on Narendra Modi, the kind of taunts that opposition leaders threw at him proved costly for the Gandhi family…”

The BJP continues to dominate election results in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In Telangana, Congress dethrones BRS to come to power in the state.

The counting of votes for the 2023 Mizoram Assembly elections was also initially fixed for December 3, but it was postponed to December 4 as Sunday holds special significance for the people of Mizoram, which is a majority state Christian.

The 2023 assembly elections for the five states – Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana – concluded on November 30.
