Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM – Firstpost

All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi also said that the Babri Masjid in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya was demolished during the Congress regime.

All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi has challenged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections against him from Hyderabad and not from Wayanad.

Addressing a public gathering, Owaisi, Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad, also said that the Babri Masjid in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya was demolished during the Congress regime.

“I challenge your leader (Rahul Gandhi) to contest elections from Hyderabad and not from Wayanad. You keep making big statements, come to the field and fight against me,” the AIMIM leader said.

“Congress people will say many things, but I am ready…Babri Masjid and Secretariat Mosque were demolished during the Congress regime,” Owisi added.

In Telangana, the Congress and AIMIM are at odds with both parties seeking to win the state Assembly elections expected to be held later this year.

Addressing Vijayabheri Sabha in Telangana’s Tukkuguda earlier this month, Rahul Gandh asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and AIMIM are working in unison in the southern state and that his party is fighting against this troika.

“In Telangana, the Congress party is not fighting against BRS but with BRS, BJP and AIMIM together. They call themselves different parties but they work together in unity,” Gandhi had said.

The Wayanad MP had also claimed that there was no CBI-ED case against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao or AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi as Prime Minister Narendra Modi considers them as his “own people”.

Ahead of the Telangana elections, the Congress announced its ‘six guarantees’ which it said will be fulfilled if voted to power.
