The showpiece event came just two days after teenage darts sensation Littler won his first Premier League darts title.

His victory came at London’s O2 Arena, so he was in an ideal position to watch United in the final at Wembley Stadium.

But Littler, who has already demonstrated his allegiance to the club on stage, took to Instagram and revealed he did not attend the match in person and instead watched from home.

“I’m at home watching the game for my own safety today, YANITED,” he said in his story moments before kickoff.

Littler claimed he would stay in London after his darts victory to watch United at Wembley, but it appears he has changed his mind.

“I’ll obviously be stopped for photos and stuff,” he admitted after winning the Premier League on Thursday night via The Mirror.

“I’m going to stop for a while, but people need to understand that I also need to get on with my day. I just want to sit back and hopefully watch United win the trophy.

“I’m confident. I watched the final last year at home on TV, but now I have the opportunity to watch it in person.”

Littler’s hopes were realized as United pulled off a shock result to win their first FA Cup trophy since 2016.

Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring taking advantage of a confusion between Josko Gvardiol and Stefan Ortega.

Their lead was doubled before half-time when Kobbie Mainoo completed a clever move with a low finish to leave City stunned.

Last season’s winners scored a consolation goal through Jeremy Doku in the final ten minutes before United secured victory.
