Liverpool are reportedly set to announce a new multi-million pound kit deal with global sports brand Adidas, with the contract set to come into effect at the start of the 2025-26 season.

It has been reported that Adidas have outbid Liverpool’s current kit supplier Nike and fellow sports retailer Puma to win a deal which will last five seasons, reuniting the brand and the Premier League club after 13 years.

Liverpool only opted for their partnership with Nike during the 2020-21 season after winning a court case against former supplier New Balance, who claimed to have corresponding rights to the new deal.

Nike’s £30m-a-season partnership with Liverpool – reportedly worth £50m after royalties – is relatively low for a high-profile kit deal, but it is claimed the Reds were attracted by the global reach and marketing strength of the sports brand.

According to Sports Business, Liverpool’s new deal with Adidas is expected to be higher than the £50m per season they received with Nike, but will fall well short of Manchester United’s £90m per year deal with the German company, a record in the Premier League.

The Reds’ bitter rivals extended their contract with Adidas until 2035 last July, increasing the guaranteed amount from £75 million to £90 million, subject to certain adjustments.

Last year, Adidas signed a lucrative contract with Trent Alexander-Arnold, who made over 300 appearances for Liverpool.

The German sports brand is actively and aggressively seeking new deals after losing its partnership with the German national football team (DFB), which agreed a shock deal with Nike starting in 2027.

Adidas, the DFB’s kit supplier for more than 70 years, currently pays the national team around £43m a year, with Nike’s new deal expected to be almost double that amount.
