LIV Golf Season Finale REVEALED with New Venue and Updated Format for $50 Million Tag Team Championship

  • The three-day tournament will feature 13 different teams from September 20-22.
  • The Maridoe Golf Club course is considered one of the most difficult in the region.

LIV Golf’s season finale has been revealed with a new venue and updated format for the league’s $50 million team championship, which will take place in Dallas, Texas this fall.

On Tuesday, LIV announced that its three-day tournament would be held at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton – a suburb of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area – from September 20-22. It will include both match play and stroke play.

Adjustments to the team championship format have been implemented to improve competition. These updates include all 13 competing teams, with only the top three teams receiving a first-round bye and automatically qualifying for Saturday’s semi-finals.

Ten teams ranked 4-13 will compete Friday in five quarterfinal matches, with matchups determined during a live press conference featuring team captains during tournament week. The five winners of the first round of match play will then advance to the semi-finals.

To improve strategy within the competition, team captains can choose to participate in singles or foursomes clashes during the first two days of match play.
