Jamie Carragher hits back at Man United fan Kate Abdo with Conference League joke after Europa League final jibe
Liverpool’s heavy Europa League defeat to Atalanta has led to Jamie Carragher seemingly offering a free trip to Dublin.
The Reds were beaten 3-0 by the Italian side in the first leg of their quarter-final, casting doubt on whether they would qualify for the final in the Irish capital.

And it’s something CBS Sports Golazo presenter Kate Abdo was keen to touch on in her latest show, saying Carragher was “begging” to work in Dublin.
“Do you still want to be there, do you still want to work for CBS for the Europa League final?” she asked.
But Carragher responded humorously: “It’s funny you say that because, I mean, in the relationship between the Irish and the Americans, there’s a very strong bond there.
“For all the love we’ve had for this show from people watching in America, there are two nights in Dublin there if anyone wants it, and that’s for me! And maybe- be a few tickets, we’ll see.”

Micah Richards then asked if he wasn’t going to Dublin now, to which Carragher laughed and replied: “It doesn’t seem like it, no.”
Abdo joked at Carragher’s expense, but she wasn’t immune as Thierry Henry decided to get revenge for a previous dig.
She alluded to Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa which saw them fail to return to the top of the Premier League, but as a Manchester United fan, Henry mocked her team’s hopes in Champions League.
He asked former Manchester City player Richards and Liverpool legend Carragher if their teams would be in the competition next season.

“Arsenal will be in the Champions League, won’t they Man United?” he asked as the club sit in seventh place and 13 points off the top four.
Abdo then tried to defend her club, implying it was an off-season, but Carragher came back and cheekily asked: “Are we covering the Conference League?”
His response made everyone on the panel laugh, before adding: “Are we doing Thursday nights?”
“I don’t believe it’s in the contract,” Abdo responded, as CBS Sports team Golazo enjoyed another evening of banter.
Liverpool could certainly turn things around against Atalanta in the second leg on Thursday, live on talkSPORT, given their previous memorable returns to Europe.
But United, on the other hand, their chances of finishing in the top four look very slim, so Abdo may well end up watching them on Thursday night next season.
