An official told ABC News that the strikes hit a site in Iran, but it is unclear which target was hit or the extent of the damage.
This follows Iran’s launch of a barrage of hundreds of drones and rockets on Israel on Saturday, which was largely thwarted by Israel and its international allies.
Images shared on social media appear to show anti-aircraft fire hitting the central Iranian city of Isfahan and the Israel War Room shared video of sirens blaring across the city.
The city of Isfahan is the site of one of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Other explosions would have affected Iraq and Syria.
