The Iranian IRGC claims to have “succeeded in striking important military targets” of the Israeli army and “destroying” them, according to the Iranian press. The Iranian government newspaper also said Tehran managed to target Israel’s most important military base in Nagev using a Kheibar missile.
This could simply be propaganda for national purposes.
The latest generation of Kheibar missiles accelerate up to Mach 5 on impact, so they would be very difficult to intercept. It was previously unclear whether Iran had the capability to launch these missiles at a range of 2,000 km towards Israel, although last May Iran claimed it could have a range of 2,000 km.
Several videos appear to show fast-moving objects striking near Nagev.
It appears that there is also a “secret” US military base in Nagev.
