Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7 specs leak, along with price tags

Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch lineup has been leaked numerous times already, but another recent leak reveals the specs of the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7, as well as their higher prices.

Dealabs This week, Samsung released a price comparison of the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7 based on information available in France. As such, the prices should not be taken as a direct comparison with other markets, but give us an indication of what Samsung plans to charge for these new devices.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra measures 47mm: 47.4 x 47.1 x 12.1mm and weighs 60.5g. For comparison, the larger Galaxy Watch 6 Classic measures 46.5 x 46.5 x 10.9mm and weighs 59g. The Watch Ultra is apparently made of titanium and features a 1.5-inch, 480×480 pixel AMOLED display under a sapphire crystal. Inside, the Watch Ultra packs 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (the same as the Pixel Watch 2) along with a 590mAh battery with wireless charging. The hardware itself is apparently water-resistant up to 10ATM, which is double that of most smartwatches available today, but has a standard array of sensors.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra, according to this leak, would have a price in France of €699.

For comparison, Samsung currently sells the 47mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic in France for €449, which means the Watch Ultra costs €250 more. By this logic, the Watch Ultra could sell for just $580 in the US, but it’s hard to make a direct conversion there. Typically, prices are closer, so $600-700 is much more likely.

Please note that this price is for a 4G compatible model.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra will apparently be available in “Titanium Gray,” “Titanium Silver,” and “Titanium White” colorways.

The Galaxy Watch 7, meanwhile, looks pretty similar to the previous generation. Leaked specs include a 40mm (40.4 x 40.4 x 9.7mm) and a 44mm (44.4 x 44.4 x 9.7mm) version with 300mAh and 425mAh batteries, respectively, 5ATM water resistance, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and the same screen sizes as their predecessors. Both are also still made of aluminum.

As for pricing, the 40mm size is expected to start at €319 while the 44mm size is expected to start at €349. This price is exactly in line with the launch price of the Galaxy Watch 6 last year, implying that there will be no price increase as was previously announced.

The 40mm size apparently gets the colors “Green” and “Cream” while the 44mm size gets “Green” and “Silver”.

The new chip in both devices is reportedly called the Exynos W1000 and is rumored to be Samsung’s first 3nm chip to hit the market. Both devices are also, as expected, powered by Wear OS 5.

Reservations for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, as well as the Watch 7 and Watch Ultra, are now open on Samsung.com, with a $50 reservation credit and potential savings of up to $1,500. Reservations are completely free and there is no obligation to purchase any devices. Registration also enters you into a drawing to win a $5,000 Samsung credit.
