Forgotten Arsenal star Albert Sambi Lokonga threatens to spoil David Moyes’ final home game as West Ham boss

David Moyes’ final home game as West Ham manager started in the worst possible way, with Luton taking an early lead.

Forgotten Arsenal star Albert Sambi Lokonga – on loan from the Hatters – broke the deadlock at the London Stadium in the sixth minute.

Lokonga drifted into the box unmarked where he arrived on the end of Alfie Doughty’s cross to head towards Alphonse Areola.

And that could be a huge target for Rob Edwards’ side if the scoreline stays the same, as Luton would need to draw level on points with 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.

Luton, who could be relegated from the Premier League on Saturday, currently sit in the bottom three on goal difference.

For them to progress to the Championship they would have to fail to beat the Hammers, with Forest then needing to beat Chelsea in Saturday’s late kick-off to stay up.

As for Moyes, he would have hoped for a quick start from his side who lost 5-0 at Stamford Bridge last time out.

The Scot will leave West Ham at the end of the season after five years in charge of the east London side.
