However, despite being one-on-one with Stefan Ortega, Jackson chose to drive past the goalkeeper, taking a heavy touch and eventually giving the ball away.

It left Chelsea fans furious while many others couldn’t believe what they had just seen.

Regarding X, one user said: “No one on the planet believed that Nicolas Jackson was going to end this opportunity. »

Another wrote: “Nicolas Jackson is the most frustrating player I’ve ever seen. And I watch United every week.”

A third added: “Nicolas Jackson should be replaced after this. Embarrassing, pathetic and horrible play from the Chelsea striker.”

Meanwhile, this fan simply said: “What is Nicolas Jackson doing here ffs!!!”

Speaking on talkSPORT commentary, former Chelsea star Scott Minto was equally surprised.

He remarked, “Wow, what an opportunity, and you won’t have many of those.”
