Cyndi Lauper’s rapper son Dex, 26, faces eviction from a posh $7,200-a-month New York neighborhood that he “turned into a nightclub,” to the fury of neighbors who say their building is now “unlivable”.

Cyndi Lauper’s son faces being evicted from his luxury Manhattan apartment after neighbors complained about loud music, nighttime screaming and the smell of marijuana.

Declyn ‘Dex’ Lauper-Thornton’s landlord has filed an eviction request to have the 26-year-old removed from his $7,200-a-month apartment.

Lauper-Thornton has been accused of violating lease rules at the Financial District building since moving in last October.

According to the filings, neighbors have to deal with “loud music every night” and loud yelling, screaming, screaming” coming from the apartment.

In February, a resident below the apartment told the landlord she feared for her safety due to the constant screaming and noise.

The resident, whose name was not revealed in the papers, complained that loud noises coming from the apartment had had a “serious and negative impact on her life”.

Others complained about the smell of marijuana coming from the apartment, loud screaming and sounds of fighting.

Court documents state that one night he entered the building’s management office with a “joint of marijuana and appearing visually intoxicated.”

The documents allege he then threatened the workers via email, telling them, “If you don’t fix the email, I’ll come back with people and smash everyone’s faces.”

“I’m going to break your legs.” I have friends and an uncle who will fuck you up. Don’t play with me because I’m going to bring someone with me and destroy this whole place.

A former neighbor told the New York Post: “I’ve never had any problems with any of the neighbors before.

“Then a new tenant moved in and immediately there was really loud music at the weirdest hours, like 3 a.m. or 7 a.m. It felt like there was a nightclub right behind my wall.”

A source also told the outlet that a day after a tenant confronted Lauper-Thornton, the former neighbor found a bullet near her apartment and decided to move out.

A neighbor also told the Post: “I heard the disturbing music every other day. There were many times when it was 2 a.m., 3 a.m. or 4 a.m.

“I had an important meeting one day during the week, but I was woken up at 3 a.m. the night before because the music was loud.

“I could feel the bass. I put on a bathrobe and went to confront the guy, in a nice way, and I had to knock on the door so loud because he just wouldn’t hear.

“He tried to take the high road with me and say, ‘Oh, is that how you talk to people?’ I said, “Yeah, at 3 a.m., I’m not going to be too nice about that.”

“So we had this conversation for 30 seconds. I left and the music continued.

“My mother and I recorded a few songs,” he told the newspaper at the time, adding that the end of the previous affair was “definitely a blessing” for him.

Lauper told Vanity Fair last year that Dex’s musical tastes tend to be “more underground,” adding, “He’s on SoundCloud and he’s a tremendous artist.”

In the chat, Lauper talked about balancing parenthood and her career.

“People said I was so driven by my career, but once the kid came along, I was figuring out how I could handle it all: making a record, touring – and my husband was like, ‘Go Europe, I have it.” she said. “I sometimes took my son on tour, but he needed his own space.”
