Conor McGregor’s jump to Hollywood not only marks his debut, but also fuels Amazon’s record-breaking success.
The UFC star, the biggest name in mixed martial arts, has added another string to his bow with his starring role in Road House, a remake of the 1989 cult classic.

The action film revolves around Elwood Dalton (played by Jake Gyllenhaal), a once-famous UFC fighter who ends up as the head bouncer at a Florida Keys truck stop that becomes the subject of repeated fights between punters.
And McGregor, who plays Knox, congratulated Amazon Prime on the success, reportedly the streaming service’s most-watched film with $50 million since its March 21 release, which would equate to $750 million.
He posted on Twitter: “Congratulations to Amazon and MGM Studios on Road House becoming their most watched film of all time! 50 million viewers over two weekends. That’s $750 million at the box office. In 10 days! Insane! Congratulations to the whole team, It was a pleasure.”
Plus, the former two-weight champion claims to have made Hollywood history once again with his salary for the film, telling the world that he is the highest-paid first-time actor of all time .
But he is no longer looking to make films and is considering a return to his first love.
McGregor has not fought since losing to Dustin Poirier in 2021. His highly anticipated return to the octagon is expected to take place this year and will likely face Michael Chandler.
There is currently no confirmation regarding the date or location of the fight, but the Dubliner is optimistic about a potential spot on June 29 at the promotion’s highly anticipated pay-per-view event in Las Vegas.
Chandler, however, said an announcement was expected soon and now fans are waiting for UFC CEO Dana White to make it.
In addition to Chandler, McGregor would also like another chance to fight Poirier given the last one, in 2021 which ended with a broken leg. He is also eyeing a lucrative third fight with Nate Diaz.
