Tottenham fans fume as Just Stop Oil unexpectedly troll club’s trophy haul

Tottenham fans have been left confused and furious after Just Stop Oil made a joke about their lack of trophies out of the blue.

The north London club became the latest to feel the consequences of Just Stop Oil – but no one could have seen how it happened.

After launching a call for donations on social networks, an X user responded with a gif representing the number zero.

The photo posted by user X showed a version of the Tottenham club badge and the Just Stop Oil X page didn’t hold back.

Reposting the response on its own page, Just Stop Oil responded with the caption: “Trophies won by Spurs in the last decade.”

This has left several Spurs fans scratching their heads in bemusement – ​​but it’s safe to say they’re not happy.

One fan replied: “No I was on your side guys, now I’m going to rent a Range Rover, hope you’re happy.”

Another said: “The things you actually achieved. 0.”

While a third wrote: “I’m literally setting my house on fire now to piss them off.” »

Just Stop Oil became widely known across the country for its bold publicity stunts, including putting itself in front of traffic and forcing 4,000 flights to be grounded at Heathrow.

And they even managed to get involved in football in March 2022 when a protester stormed onto the pitch during a Premier League match between Everton and Newcastle.

Louis McKechnie stopped play when he ran onto the pitch and attached himself to the Goodison Park goal post. He was later convicted of aggravated trespassing.

And it wasn’t just football that was affected when a protester stormed onto Lord’s ground last summer during The Ashes, with England cricketer Jonny Bairstow winning.

Snooker was also forced to halt when protesters managed to climb onto a Crucible table and throw orange powder at it during the World Snooker Championship.

Just Stop Oil is a protest group that uses nonviolent direct action to force the government to listen to its plan of action.

They want all use of fossil fuels to be banned by 2030 and more funding to go to renewable energy sources.
