Blackrock predicts European Central Bank rate cut ahead of Federal Reserve

ICYMI from Blackrock (BlackRock is the world’s largest asset manager). The firm’s analysts expect the European Central Bank to begin cutting interest rates before the U.S. Federal Reserve.

Citing resilient economic growth and persistent inflation in the United States as likely to delay the start of Fed rate cuts beyond June. The ECB, on the other hand, is expected to cut interest rates at its June meeting.

  • “While we still expect the Fed to begin its easing cycle in the second half of 2024, we no longer view the risks over this (relatively broad) period as being skewed toward the beginning. We now view them as more balanced.”

The next ECB policy meeting will take place on June 6:
