⚡Barcelona vs PSG Quick Betting Tips

Barcelona vs Paris Saint-Germain Predictions

Xavi Hernandez would probably have settled for a draw when Barcelona traveled to the French capital to face Paris Saint-Germain last week. In the end, he got more than that.

The La Liga champions, who will soon be dethroned by Real Madrid at home, hold a 3-2 aggregate advantage heading into the second leg on Tuesday.

Barcelona opened the scoring in the first half through Raphinha, but a strong start to the second half saw PSG turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead.

Yet Barcelona didn’t give up the lead and they were back on level terms shortly after the hour mark as Raphinha scored his second of the match.

Things looked even better for the Catalan side late on, as substitute Andreas Christensen rose highest to score what would prove to be the winning goal in the 77th minute.

Barcelona were worthy winners. PSG played well for just 15 minutes immediately after the break. Certainly, they had other opportunities to find the net. But Barça had their own opportunities and they were more ruthless than their opponents.

Needless to say, Xavi’s team are now in pole position to qualify for the semi-finals. Barcelona can still salvage something from this season in the Champions League, a tournament they have not won since current PSG boss Luis Enrique led them to glory in 2015.

Since then, Barcelona have not had much joy in continental competition. They have reached just one semi-final after 2015 – and that ended in an ignominious 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the second leg after Barca won the first game 3-0.

During the two seasons preceding this one, the Blaugrana didn’t even make it past the group stage. Xavi has already announced he will leave the club this summer, and the Barcelona legend will be determined to succeed by winning the Champions League.

Barcelona vs PSG Betting Tips

This tie is still in play but Barcelona are the favorites to advance at the expense of PSG.

PSG or draw – 8/13 (Paddy Power)

Paris Saint-Germain does not lack motivation either, the French still awaiting their first success in this competition. This prepares well for the return match.

Luis Enrique’s team will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. But a team unaccustomed to being underdogs can actually rejoice in their unusual status as non-favorites.

Before the first leg, Luis Enrique said his managerial approach better represented Barcelona’s traditional style of play than Xavi’s. PSG actually dominated possession last time out, but Barcelona had the biggest lead in advanced areas.

PSG should not be afraid to play in transition on this occasion. They possess a fast trio of Kylian Mbappe, Marco Asensio and Ousmane Dembele, so Barcelona will have to be wary of their opponents advancing quickly.

Although PSG were disappointing for large periods of the first leg, they could have easily drawn the match. Luis Enrique’s team has not yet emerged from this draw.

Higher score in the second half – Evens (Paddy Power)

The first legs of all the Champions League quarter-finals have been entertaining and we all hope it will be the same this week.

This tie could still go either way and so we could see a relatively cagey first half, with Barcelona keen to protect their lead and Paris Saint-Germain determined to avoid going for it too early.

However, when we reach the second half, at least one of these teams will be enticed to take more risks.

Extra time is of course a possibility, but Barcelona’s one-goal lead means this one will likely be settled in 90 minutes.

If PSG is still trailing overall at half-time, they will be forced to open up after the break. Or if Barcelona’s lead no longer exists at halftime, they will take a more attacking approach in the second half.

Either way, we like the look of this 1/1 bet.

Kylian Mbappe will score at any time – Evens (Paddy Power)

Due to his demands, Mbappé spent a quiet night at the Parc des Princes during the first leg of this quarter-final.

During his last visit to Barcelona, however, the France international was at his best, scoring a hat-trick as Paris Saint-Germain won 4-1 at the Camp Nou in 2021.

With Mbappé expected to join Real Madrid this summer, he will be particularly keen to score against Real Madrid. Whites‘great rivals.

There are, however, more reasons to choose it in this market. Mbappe was handled well by Barcelona last time out, but the home side will likely defend higher up the pitch on Tuesday.

It only takes one pass behind Barca’s backline for Mbappe to do some serious damage, and in the 90 minutes that PSG fight to get back into the tie, he will surely have at least one major opportunity.

⚽ Advise Kylian Mbappe to score anytime with Paddy Power ⚽
