Ashi Chouksey and Swapnil Kusale claim top spots in 50M Rifle 3P event – ​​Firstpost

Shooters Ashi Chouksey and Swapnil Kusale on Tuesday won qualifying honors in the women’s and men’s 50m Rifle 3 positions respectively at the Olympic selection trials in New Delhi. Ashi shot 590 in the women’s 3P OST while Sift Kaur Samra finished second with a score of 583.

Tokyo Olympian Anjum Moudgil finished third with 581 points while Paris Olympics quota holder Shriyanka Sadangi finished fourth with 575 points. Nischal equalized Shriyanka’s score but failed on the basis of the inside 10.

The men’s 3P was tighter at the top, with Swapnil edging the others with two superlative 199s in the first kneeling and prone positions, to finish with 592.

Chain Singh, the Army’s seasoned small arms specialist, came second with 591, while Akhil Sheoran, despite scoring a perfect 200 in the prone position, finished third with 589.

Niraj Kumar and Aishwary Tomar finished at the bottom with scores of 579 and 576 respectively.

Trap shooters bow out in Doha

Meanwhile, Indian shooters withdrew from the Olympic qualifying championship in Doha on Tuesday.

In the men’s trap, Prithviraj Tondaiman accumulated 119 points to finish 23rd, while Vivaan Kapoor finished 56th (116 points) and Zoravar Singh Sandhu 82nd (114 points).

In the women’s trap competition, Manisha Keer was the highest placed Indian at 37th with 111 points, while Neeru was 55th (107 points) and Shreyasi Singh 56th (106 points).
