Arizona Iced Tea Co-Founder Doesn’t Expect Price Increase ‘In The Near Future’

Arizona iced tea lovers can rest easy knowing that the company’s 23-ounce cans won’t cost more than 99 cents anytime soon.

“I don’t know for ever, but not in the foreseeable future,” Don Vultaggio, co-founder of Arizona Beverages, told “Today” about the price increase. “We are going to fight as hard as we can for consumers, because consumers are my friends.”

His comments come as US consumers have been hit by inflation.

In the “Today” interview, Vultaggio said not raising the price of 23-ounce cans was “maybe… my little way of giving back.”

“We’re successful. We’re debt-free. We own everything,” he told the newspaper. “Why do people who are struggling to pay their rent have to pay more for our drinks?”

Vultaggio has already doubled down on its efforts to maintain the 99-cent price, including in a 2022 appearance on “Cavuto: Coast to Coast.”

Arizona 23-ounce canned drinks have been 99 cents since the early ’90s.

The co-founder said the beverage company was able to maintain that price due to several factors, including production speed, shipping practices and “thinner” cans, according to “Today.”

Arizona produces its cans and bottles in “multiple locations” across the United States and Canada, its website says.

Its beverage portfolio includes more than 100 flavors, like Ginseng Green Tea and Arnold Palmer, as well as newer products, like its alcoholic offerings.
