Are you still using your Apple Vision Pro? Tell me why.

  • Apple’s Vision Pro headset was the hottest gadget when it was released, but enthusiasm has waned.
  • Apple has lowered its sales forecast because the $3,500 headset isn’t flying off the shelves.
  • It still looks cool, but I’m just not sure what you do with it? Please tell me!

I don’t mean this in a shady way at all, but please tell me: if you have an Apple Vision Pro and you’re happy with it and use it a lot, what is it for?

The hype and anticipation surrounding the Vision Pro was off the charts. This was a completely new type of product, and even skeptics were curious about what this new type of face computer would look like. It had been kept under wraps – we didn’t even really know what the features would look like, or what they would be, or how it would work. When people were finally able to try it for themselves, it was an event: you could make an appointment at your local Apple store just to test it out.

There were viral videos of people wearing them in public or while driving a Cybertruck (don’t do that).

I got to try it out a bit when my colleague Jordan Hart was testing the Vision Pro for her review. It was undeniably very cool.

But Jordan discovered what many other people discovered after a while: Even though it was really cool, she wasn’t sure what to do. TO DO with him regularly, and after a week, she didn’t really want to reach for him.

Apple has reportedly lowered its forecast for the number of units sold this year to around 400,000. This is not a good sign.

Reports on social media started pouring in of people returning their Vision Pro, saying that while it was neat, it just wasn’t worth the $3,500 or more price tag for a device that looked like it needed be improved. The Verge reports that on eBay, used Vision Pros go for way less than sticker price.

It seems like a lot of people are hoping there will be a next-gen version that will be much cheaper and do even more. Personally, I wouldn’t spend that much money on a fun device – even if I think it’s cool!

I generally like to think that I have a handle on how people use personal technology, but in this case I don’t know anyone in my life who has purchased one and is a regular user. (I have a friend who bought a Vision Pro and returned it).

But it’s clear that there are still plenty of people who use theirs regularly and are happy with them. Maybe it’s you? I’m really curious what Vision Pro enthusiasts are doing with theirs.

Tell me what you do: play? Functioning? To watch movies ? Do you use it for traveling, like on a plane? Or mainly at home? Video chat? After a few months, how did you adapt to it?

Seriously, tell me: notopoulos@businessinsider.comor leave a comment on social media.
