Apple offers more money for iPhone trade-ins next week

If you’re considering upgrading to the iPhone 15, next week might be the time to do so.

Apple retail stores are reportedly offering a little more money for iPhone trade-ins from May 20 to June 3. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the cash boost will only apply if you plan to trade in your phone for the iPhone 15.

Gurman didn’t specify what the price increase would be, so your mileage may vary. Currently, the most Apple pays for a trade-in is $630 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Of course, if you want to upgrade, you might want to wait until late summer, when we expect to see the iPhone 16.

Current rumors point to the iPhone 16 running on Apple’s next-generation A18 chips and the tetraprism feature landing on the iPhone 16 Pro as well as the iPhone 16 Pro Max. That said, the update shouldn’t be a huge change from the iPhone 15, so if you’re struggling with a slow phone or one with a broken screen, you probably won’t be missing out on much by opting for the iPhone 15 now.

The release of the iPhone 16 will coincide with the release of iOS 18, which is expected to bring a number of AI features to the iPhone.
