Ali Krieger ‘secretly filed for divorce in New Jersey’ three months after ex Ashlyn Harris ‘wrongly’ filed for divorce in Florida

New court documents reveal that Ali Krieger also filed for divorce to end his marriage to Ashlyn Harris, after the latter filed suit in another state.

Court records obtained by US Weekly indicate that Krieger, 39, filed separately in New Jersey on Dec. 1, 2023. Her call to end their four-year marriage is accompanied by the suit Harris filed “wrongfully ” in Florida.

In her filing, Krieger said she and Harris were married Dec. 28, 2019, in a civil ceremony in Miami but resided in New Jersey. She then cited irreconcilable differences, as the documents indicate there is “no reasonable prospect of reconciliation.”

The recently retired football star asked the court to implement “a legal, residential custody and parenting time arrangement that protects the best interests of their two children.”

The couple share a three-year-old daughter, Sloane, and a nearly two-year-old son, Ocean. Krieger also asked the court to divide their assets and liabilities equally — and that Harris pay him child support and legal fees.

Their 13-year relationship led to marriage and their children, Sloane and Ocean.

Krieger claimed that Harris improperly filed for divorce in Seminole County, Florida.

In a January interview with Self Magazine, Krieger explained how she found out Harris had filed for divorce while she was training with her former team, NY/NJ Gotham FC.

“I found out in practice,” Krieger said. “I was on the ground. And I walked off the field, into the locker room, and I was visibly devastated,” Krieger said. “My whole team came out for a dance party the night the news broke.”

“Then my teammates just started walking through the door,” Krieger revealed after canceling a press conference and heading home. ‘All. At different times. Until 2 a.m. we were there, hanging out, dancing, putting music on YouTube. We were sitting in the playroom, in my kitchen. We danced and hung out together, and they all brought wine and flowers, and just themselves.

Harris, the former USWNT goalkeeper, filed for divorce from Krieger in Seminole County, Florida, on September 19, 2023. According to documents obtained by the United States, Harris described their marriage as ” irreparably broken.

After the couple shared a 13-year relationship, Harris claimed they “planned to enter into a marital settlement agreement that would resolve all financial issues” and “planned to sign a parenting plan that would resolve all issues related to the children “.

Krieger shared that she discovered Harris’ record while training with NY/NJ Gotham FC.

After their split, Harris began dating actress Sophia Bush and dismissed cheating rumors.

Neither Krieger nor Harris’ lawyers have commented on the matter.

“A few weeks ago, a process that had been taking place privately for some time became public. Ending a relationship after almost 13 years of friendship, companionship, marriage and co-parenting (many of them good years) is a decision that was not made lightly,” Harris wrote on Instagram a month ago after the divorce is made public.

“We agreed to center our children, continue therapy, separate and move on with our lives.”

Additionally, Harris began dating actress Sophia Bush after the split and brushed aside cheating rumors, saying, “Not all marriages last forever.” Ours didn’t. For many reasons,” Harris wrote. “Let me be clear: I have not given up on my marriage. I have always been faithful in my marriage, even if I have not always been completely happy.
